
Un estudio realizado por NPD Group, una firma líder en investigación de mercados, reveló que 81% de los entrevistados ven televisión un promedio de 10 horas a la semana, publicó el portal Cnet News.com.
Se entrevistaron 10, 281 personas y la mayoría tiene como prioridad la televisión, un porcentaje abrumador si se toma en cuenta que no se incluyó ver películas sino sólo shows, noticieros y deportes. Sí, a pesar del gran número de actividades recreativas disponibles para los estadounidenses, éstos prefieren estar sentados viendo TV.
Ni Internet, ni los SMS, ni los videojuegos han superado el tiempo que la gente inviertepara ver 'tele'. Se creía que "la práctica de ver televisión estaba siendo reemplazada por el uso de dispositivos como lap tops o iPods", mencionó Russ Crupnick, analista de NPD, pero la realidad es que la televisión permanece como el medio de entretenimiento por excelencia en EE.UU.
También se supo que escuchar la radio convencional es una actividad que los ciudadanos de Estados Unidos no han dejado atrás, pues ocupó el segundo lugar en el sondeo. De los entrevistados 78% asegura que la escucha un promedio de más de cinco horas a la semana.
Por lo que respecta a las nuevas tecnologías el envío de e-mails y la mensajería instantánea son las más populares, con 70% realizando ambas actividades por más de cuatro horas semanales.
Debajo están las visitas a las redes sociales, con un 47% usándolas por cinco horas por semana.
