Las estrellas están muy bien y presentes en San Diego en el evento internacional de Comic-Con que es siempre exitoso y fascinante y termino el pasado fin de semana.
Don Cheadle y Scarlett Johansson presentaron una muestra de Iron Man 2, la secuela el próximo verano de lo que seguramente será una franquicia de mucho éxito y duración; Robert Downey Jr. estuvo ahí para promover su película Sherlock Holmes; Seth Rogen también apareció para The Green Hornet; y aun también un muy mejorado G.I. Joe estuvo ahí, cortesía de Hasbro, para promover una película nueva, un video juego y un juguete Nuevo!
Pero posiblemente la estrella mas brillante del evento no fue un actor real o un personaje de acción: fue una tecnología vieja que de repente ha emergido como una de las tendencias mas importantes: Si, la 3a dimensión regresa!
Sinceramente, las películas en 3a dimensión nunca dejaron de existir, pero en realidad nunca alcanzaron la popularidad de los anos 50 con clásicos como la Creature from the Black Lagoon y Dial M for Murder, quienes fueron la era de oro de la cinematografía en 3a dimensión. Desde entonces siempre han contado con una pequeña audiencia en cines de IMAX con aficionados a los temas de horror y ciencia ficción a los que les proporciona diversión adicional.
Ya todo cambio a principios de esta década cuando la tecnología de producción moderna y una nueva generación de estudios de Hollywood se agruparon para producir una serie de películas muy exitosas en 3a. dimensión – las mas notables fueron The Polar Express y Toy Story. Desde entonces el formato en 3a. dimensión has sido opción común en los cines múltiplex y ahora hasta DVD portátiles son disponibles en este formato aunque se necesitan esos lentes de apariencia chistosa para verlos.
En Comic-Con, un salón entero fue dedicado a mostrar la tecnología de 3a. dimensión – películas actuales como futuras. Y todos los estudios principales estuvieron presentes, incluyendo cortos de A Christmas Carol, Alice in Wonderland y Tron.
En este momento la revolución de 3a. dimensión no ha sido restringida únicamente a los teatros de cine. En un evento reciente de la revista Fortune en Pasadena, CA, Jeffrey Katzenberg, el jefe de los estudios de DreamWorks estudio, le comunicó a la audiencia que las empresas de LG y Panasonic están listas para empezar a enviar "millones de monitores con pantalla para 3a. dimensión". Estas televisiones empezarán a salir para uso en el hogar en la próxima primavera. Después de esto, las pantallas no requerirán los anteojos especiales.
"Es como el cambio de blanco y negro a color", dijo Katzenberg. "Se transportará a cada aparato que tengamos". También notó que la clave para apreciar la tecnología sin los anteojos está en el poder del procesador, un reto para el cual Intel y los otros fabricantes ya están completamente listos a resolver.
